A city whines for more tax revenue, yet …

Brantford taxpayers support Ontario post-secondary education through provincial taxes administered by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada offers college or university funding programs for Status Indian and Inuit students funded by federal taxes, which the taxpayers of Brantford contribute to.

Yet, Brantford City Council felt compelled to give $425K grant to Six Nations Polytechnic, a new skills training centre in the former Mohawk College campus in Brantford.

Why does a city whine for more tax revenue one day, then duplicate the responsibilities of other levels of government the next?
