Did You Know That Governments Are In the Advertising Business?

Could the provinces use $113 Million to improve services for people with a developmentally disability?  That’s how much the Government of Canada has spent to date on Economic Action Plan commercials.

The article “Don’t use my cash to say how well your using it” is another reminder that governments are not in the television and radio advertising business.  It’s the job of the MP, MPP or MLA to keep constituents informed about government activities.

We don’t pay taxes for governments to spend our tax dollars on exorbitant television and radio slots.  We pay taxes for essential services, such as excellent care for the developmentally disabled, that governments do best.
