Ontario’s municipal elections: are we getting the straight goods?

Campaigning for municipal election along Ontario’s highways and byways is reaching a fever pitch.  We are inundated with signs, ads, literature, “debates” and knocks at the door (well, some doors).  Are we getting the straight goods from the candidates’ verbiage or is doublespeak dumbing us down?

Mr. John Robson gives us a heads up here on buzzwords, bafflegab and just plan B(rown) S(ugar).

Objectivity is key.  Look for it in the candidate’s platform, in the media coverage and in the debates (organizers and panels) on the issues.  It may be hard to find.

Pay attention to what is discussed AND what isn’t.
