Political courage: bonuses paid despite Pan Am Party in the hole

Yes Mr. Peterson, it takes great political courage to host an Expo, the Olympics or the Pan Am Games … especially when the event is grossly in the hole but bonuses still get paid.

Such is the case with the Pan Am Games of last summer in Toronto.  The games final bill was $342 Million over the original 2009 budget of $1.4 Billion.

There is at least some consistence in this Ontario Liberal government sponsored event:  “Hard drives were wiped as employees left after the games, making it tougher for the auditor general to do her work.”
