You Don’t Need a Jackhammer to Hammer in a Nail

There is a way to reduce patient wait times in an emergency room.  After the triage is completed, assign the patient to the medical professional who has the ability to confirm the diagnosis and recommend treatment.  For example, a nurse is quite capable of diagnosing and treating pink eye.

If the medical professional needs to verify their diagnosis  and prescribed treatment, they can always ask for backup.

All patients don’t need to see the person in the starched white coat with requisite embroidered name in it to solve their problems.
